The St. Cecilia Choir is the heart of the musical ministry at St. Louis Catholic Church, providing sacred music that enhances the liturgical experience and draws the congregation closer to God. As our main choir, the St. Cecilia Choir leads the music during Sunday Masses, holy days, and special liturgical events, enriching the worship experience with a blend of hymns, traditional choral pieces, and contemporary worship music.

Who Can Join the St. Cecilia Choir?

• Age Requirement: Adults and teens with a passion for music and a love for worship.
• Musical Experience: While musical experience is preferred, it is not a requirement. All interested singers are welcome to audition, and rehearsals will provide the training needed.
• Commitment: Members are expected to attend regular rehearsals and sing at Sunday Masses and other special liturgies.

Responsibilities of St. Cecilia Choir Members

• Lead Music at Mass: The choir leads the congregation in song during the Sunday liturgy, helping the parishioners to lift their hearts and voices in worship.
• Participate in Special Liturgies: In addition to regular Masses, the choir performs during key liturgical events such as Christmas, Easter, Holy Week, and special feast days.
• Rehearse Regularly: Choir members attend weekly rehearsals to practice hymns, psalms, and anthems. Rehearsals ensure the choir is well-prepared to enhance the liturgy.
• Perform Special Music: The choir also performs more complex choral pieces and special musical selections during Masses and parish events.

How to Join the St. Cecilia Choir

1. Audition: Interested singers can schedule an audition by contacting the parish office or choir director. Auditions help ensure that each singer’s voice can contribute to the choir’s harmonious sound.
